🎶“Come to Jesus, give Him your heart, come to Jesus

Just as you are

And He will make you whole again

Come to Jesus, bring all your sins, come to Jesus

Where new life begins

He wants to make you whole again”

Come to Jesus- Sanctuary Worship

I have had this song Come to Jesus by Sanctuary Worship in rotation for over a month now. I even included it on this month’s Bible Scripture Challenge: Life of Jesus

One thing you can learn from this song is that you can come to Jesus just as you are. You may have already known that, but sometimes we need to be reminded. We don’t need to fix ourselves up before we come to Him. We don’t have to wait until we no longer feel ashamed. We can come as we are and allow Him to help make us better. We can come with our sin, shame, mistakes, and brokenness and He will strip away what’s not like Him, grant us forgiveness, and make us whole again.

He truly wants us to come to Him as we are. Not just because the song says so, but because He says so. If we wait until we are perfect, which we will never be, especially not without Him on this side of heaven, then when we come to Jesus what is there left for Him to do? Jesus welcomes us as imperfect beings to enter a life with Him so that He can perfect us. Whereas with man or people we tend to give portions of ourselves or seek after things and people for wholeness and never receive the true satisfaction that we need. We don’t have to do that with Him and you should not allow your experiences with man keep you from Him. If anything, it should draw you closer to the One who knows all and can do all things.

So why do we give portions of ourselves to others and not show up fully as who we are? We may give portions of ourselves to others because of lack of trust, a fear of being hurt, past hurts, let downs, expectations not being met or being judged of our past or present flaws, but guess what… the Lord is trustworthy. He doesn’t condemn, He forgives, He sets free, He cleanses, He washes you white as snow, and He makes you new. He will never leave you or forsake you. He shall supply all your needs. He will make a way for you. He will provide. He will comfort you. What is it that He can’t do?

Jesus is the answer and solution for all things, yet so many people seek after things, people, and gods (lowercase g/little g) that only provide temporary solutions and peace, but Jesus, He is the only one who saves, He is the only one who provides everlasting peace, and the only one who provides eternal life and the only one who can truly make you whole and complete.

Remember that He wants your heart, not a part of it, but your whole heart. He wants to transform you. He wants to heal you. He welcomes you with open arms even with your sin. He wants you to bring Him all your sin and shame so that He can make you whole again. He wants to love you. Will you let Him?

May God himself, the God who makes everything holy and whole, make you holy and whole, put you together—spirit, soul, and body—and keep you fit for the coming of our Master, Jesus Christ. The One who called you is completely dependable. If he said it, he’ll do it! 1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5‬:‭23‬-‭24‬ ‭MSG‬‬
