I hope you are doing well, in good health, and staying safe. With all that is going on in our nation with COVID-19, I pray that God has given you peace and comfort knowing that all things are still in His control. This is not a surprise to God and He will heal our land, but there is something that is required of us. COVID-19 is happening for a reason and God has a purpose for it.

We can thank God in advance because we know that all things work together for the good of those who love God and who have been called according to His purpose. (Romans 8:28)

But what is required of us? God’s word also says that “if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14

God has called His people (us) to:

  1. Humble ourselves
  2. Pray
  3. Seek His face
  4. Turn from our wicked ways

THEN, He will hear from heaven and forgive our sins and heal our land.

In order for us to turn from our wicked ways, we must repent.

In order for God to forgive our sins, we must confess.

So for the month of April, we will be learning what it looks like to confess and repent because they are two separate things. We will be learning what God’s word says about confession and repentance.

Confess: admit, to confess by way of admitting oneself guilty of what one is accused of, the result of inward conviction, of public acknowledgment or confession of sin, to profess or acknowledge openly.

Repent: To change one’s mind or purpose, change of mind involves both a turning from sin and a turning to God, making a complete change of direction (180-degree turn) toward God.

Many times sin is overlooked because the world and culture have tried to normalize things that are truly not pleasing to God. In His eyes, it is sin and a wicked way of living.

January 2018, I did a challenge on Avoiding Sin. Please review those scriptures and allow God to bring to light things you may have done that have not been pleasing to God so that you can confess and repent. Also, as God brings to light what He considers sin, please confess and repent on behalf of the entire world as well (Nehemiah 1:6-11).

We all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, but praise God for His grace and the blood of Jesus Christ. (Romans 3:23)

To bring all of this together, God has called me to do a corporate fast. A time where we all come together for a time of praying and fasting for God to heal our land and put an end to this virus.

The fast will begin on April 1 and I will send more details as soon as God gives them to me. For now, begin to hydrate yourself and eat plenty of fruits and vegetables, and ask God to prepare your heart and mind for this fast. Begin praying for discipline, strength, a miracle for our world, and for God to rebuke all attacks of the enemy. Please keep me in prayer during this time as I prepare.

Join the community at aspiritualwarrior.com to receive details on the fast for and to download the full Bible Scripture Challenge.

For now, our April Challenge will be on Confession and Repentance and the fast will tie in with the challenge.

Be blessed, stay rooted in God’s word, continue praying, and talk soon!

Love you,

Chatoya
